Yvette is a woman in Tirzah's partner program in Burundi, HomeCare Sewing Center. Our friend David Frame made a truly incredible video of her story.

When Yvette arrived at HomeCare, she felt depressed, like her life was devoid of joy or happiness. Peace Nihorimbere, the program leader at HomeCare, describes that when Yvette first came to the center, she hung her head and appeared fearful and closed-off. She was quiet and rarely spoke; Peace describes her as having not experienced affection in her family, but rather fear. One day, during prayer group, Yvette's soft voice finally spoke the words of Isaiah 41:10 that Peace had shared with her. She says that those words cured her, healed her, and brought her comfort and life. Every time she remembers it, she remembers that God loves her, sees her, and cares for her.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Since arriving at HomeCare, Yvette says she truly has "overwhelming joy." There, Yvette had a community of women who were a safe place to share stories and learn new skills. Yvette graduated from HomeCare's Sewing Program in the summer of 2012. She is now employing the skills she learned there to support herself financially.

We love hearing these incredible stories of the resurrection life of Jesus being lived out in the lives of the women in our partner programs. Yvette is truly a #TirzahWoman who finds her strength, value, identity, and hope in Christ.
